Common Name Lohok's Bulbophyllum [Dutch original Collector of species in 1900's]

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Sabah Borneo in high montane forests often on small branches near the forest floor at elevations of 1600 to 2300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with 1/4 to 1/2" [7mm to 1.25 cm] between each, ovoid hardly flattened, green stained purple pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptic, red stained beneath, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring through early fall on a horizontal, single flowered inflorescence.

"This species belongs to SECTION Codonosiphon Schlechter 1913 , of which most species occur in New Guinea. The flowers are most similar to B. aureoapex Schltr., which, however, has a patent rhizome and distinctly ovate petals." Vermeulen & Lamb 1994
