Common Name The Long Scaped Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands to Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa, as a unifoliate epiphyte at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters in mangrove swamps and open forests with 1 3/43" between the ovoid pseudobulbs carrying the single, apical, linear-oblong, subacute leaf that blooms on a basal, slender, to 28" [80 cm] long inflorescence with a few sequentially opening flowers on a short expanding rachis occuring over several months. This species requires a moisture holding medium in a large pot, hot temperatures, partial shade and ample water and fertilizer.
