Common Name The Large-Lipped Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found from Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo at elevations of sea level to 1000 meters in lowland and lower montane forests on the lower trunks and branches of canopy or understory trees as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with 3/8 to 1/2" spaced, ovoid, slightly flattened, olive green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, thick, elliptic, dark green, petiolate leaf, that blooms on a 8" to 12" [20 to 30 cm] long, many [18] flowered inflorescence with triangular floral bracts and successively opening single flowers.

Very similar to B tardeflorens which is often given as a synonym of this species but differs in the basal, longitudinal calli of the lip.
