Found in the eastern forests of Madagascar at elevations of 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with 1 to 1 1/8" [2.5 to 3 cm] between each ovoid-conical pseudobulb carrying 2 apical leaves that blooms in the spring on a refelexed, 10" [25 cm] long, thinner, many flowered inflorescence with according to Cribb 2009 red flowers
