Common Name Mason's Bulbophyllum [English Orchid Collector 1900’s]
Flower Size 8.4” [21 cm] long
Found in Papua New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1500 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with close set, truncate-elliptic, in coss-section subrotund pseduobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly ellipsoid leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on a basal, peduncle very thin, 3.2” [8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with membranous, enclosing and densely appressed to the ovary floral bracts
