Common Name The Maxillaria-Like Bulbophyllum
Flower Size 2" [5 cm] tall
Found in Papua New Guinea in lowland forests on river banks and stream sides on trees at elevations around 200 to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a creeping, short rhizome giving rise to close set, ovoid, about terete, glabrous pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong, acuminate, coriaceous, glabrous, narrowing below into a short, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a short, enveloped by peduncle scales, single flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
