Found in New Guinea at the foot of the range forest at elevations around 50 to 100 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a rhizome enveloped by dry sheaths and .6" [1.5 cm] in between each grooved, conical pseduobulb carrying a single, apical, linear, acute leaf that blooms with up to 6, basal, 1 3/5" [4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence that blooms in the fall

The flowers are golden yellow to orange yellow
