Found in Yunnan province of China on tree trunks in montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with closely spaced, subglobose, sometimes dorsal-ventrally compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical coricaeous, ovate-lanceolate, to oblong-ligulate, subsessile leaf that blooms in the summer on 1 to 2, basal, erect, slender, single flowered inflorescence
