Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 250 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with cylindrical, subparellel to the rhizome pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, apiculate, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a very short, single flowered inflorescence.

The flowers are greenish with red spotted petals and red papillae on the underside of the lip.
