Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 250 to 2100 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with cylindrical, subparellel to the rhizome pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, apiculate, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the shortly pedicellate ovary floral bracts.

The flowers are greenish with red spotted petals and red papillae on the underside of the lip.
