Found in the New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 450 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to minute pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, oval to obovate-oval, minutely apiculate, fleshy, glabrous leaf that blooms in the early summer on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are violet red with darker petals and lip.
