Found in northeastern Madagascar in the eastern coastal forest as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with ovoid, not to slightly rounded angled, orange when dried pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, erect, linear-oblong, obtuse at the top, narrowed at base into a short pseudo-petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on basal, erect, peduncle provided with 4 to 5 tubular, cauline sheaths, shorter than the internodes, 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, rachis 3.2 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, successively few, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence with ovate obtuse, single nerved, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
