Common Name or Meaning The Fierce Bulbophyllum

Found in central Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations around 700 to 1500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a thick rhizome giving rise to elongated, narrow pseudobulbs which are enveloped completely in youth with thin obtuse sheaths and carrying two, apical, oblanceolate, attenuate from the apical third to the base or shortly petiolate leaves which blooms in the spring and summer on a basal, 3" [7.5 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence and clad with 6 to 7 loose, thin, obtuse sheaths.
