Found in New Guinea on trees in lower range forests at elevations around 1100 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm] between each subcylindrical pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate-ligulate, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with somewhat shorter than the ovary floral bracts..
The flowers are red, the labellum is yellow brown,, the petals yellowish with a red spot and the column is also pale yellow.
