Common Name The Blackish Bulbophyllum - In China Gou Geng Shi Dou Lan

Flower Size 3/8" [1 cm]

Found in Thailand, Yunnan Province China and Vietnam in sparse woods growing on tree trunks at elevations around 400 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing lithophye or epiphyte with squat, globular, flattened ventrically, rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear to lanceolate leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, basal, 6" to 20" [15 to 50cm] long, many flowered inflorescence.

Some authors cite B anguste-ellipticum as a synonym but I feel there are distinct differences other than color.
