Common Name or Meaning The Nine Thread Bulbophyllum [refers to the petal appendages]
Flower Size .4" [1 cm] wide
Found in penninsular Malaysia on mossy tree trunks at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a pendulous, branching rhizome with .4 to 1" [1 to 2.5 cm] between each ovoid, orange in youth, maroon later pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, thick, stiff, ovate to elliptic, acute, maroon in youth, maroon suffused with dark green with age leaf that blooms in the later summer and fall on an erect, .24 to .32" [6 to 7 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by sheaths and with a tubular, acute floral bract and carrying ephemeral flowers.
