Found in New Guinea in primary forests at elevations of 1500 to 3000 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with [2 to 9 cm] betweeen each ovoid to orbicular, sometimes slightly lenticular, pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate to elliptic, obtuse to acute gradually narrowing below in to the .32 to 1.8" [.8 to 4.5 cm] long, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter through spring on an erect, basal, 13.2 to 28.2" [33 to 72 cm] long, 15 to 55 flowered inflorescence
