Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

From Thailand, Malaysia, Java and Borneo in mangrove, lowland, open secondary, mixed and peat swamp forests at elevations of sea-level to 600 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing, unifoliate epiphyte that has a 2" spread between each ovoid, yellow pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblong, coriaceous, convex, apically bilobed leaf that blooms in the late winter and again in the summer or fall on a slender, 4 3/4" [12 cm] long, inflorescence with 4 sheaths and a cluster [12 to 15] of filamenty white flowers resembling fireworks

This species requires a wood slat basket culture or tree fern with hot temperatures, partial shade and high humidity.

In Java the fruits of this species along with fruits [not necassarily all together] from Plocoglottis javanica, Hippeophyllum scortechnii; and Dendrobium crumenatum are boiled and the juice is applied into ones ears for an earache
