Found in New Guinea in primary forests on large trees at elevations around 850 to 1100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with cylindrical-conic pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-ligulate, acuminate, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a short, single flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
