Found in the Moluccas, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands in primary forests at elevations of 650 to 2500 meters as a warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .24 to 2.8" [.6 to 7 cm] between each, ovoid pseudobulb and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic to almost obovate, obtuse to acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall winter and spring on a basal, glabrous to coarsely verrucose, 1.2 to 12.8" [3 to 32 cm] long, to 30 flowered inflorescence with 4 to 6 bracts and ovate to elliptic floral bracts.
