Common Name The Mount Oro Bulbophyllum [A mountain of the east end along the north coast]

Flower Size .144" [.36 cm] long

Found in eastern Papua New Guinea in lower montane forests at elevations around 1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a pendulous, branching rhizome enveloped by rather short, tubular, subulate-acuminate, keeled sheaths and giving rise to spirally arranged, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] apart, basally adnate to the rhizome, the free apex, shortly erect-patent pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, narrowly lanceolate, acute, 5 nerved, narrowing towards the base leaf that blooms in the summer on fascile at the nodes of the rhizome, very short, peduncle adpressed, provided with a few tubular, scales, single flowered inflorescence with obliquely cup-shaped, keeled, enveloping the ovary floral bracts and carrying glabrous flowers.
