Found in Java and Borneo in primary forests at elevations around 500 to 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with small, ellipsoid to ovoid-cylindrical, not angular pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect to patent, elliptic to obovate, obtuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a patent, elongated, rachis 1.32 to 2.4” [3.3 to 5.6 cm] long, nodding, 5.2 to 8.4” [13 to 21 cm] long, rather lax, 14 to 20 flowered inflorescence.
CAUTION I am not convinced that the flower photos are correct as the inflorescence is erect and the rachis is not nodding so please use with caution. The Type drawing is absolutely correct.
Similar to B osyriceroides from Sumatra and Java but this one differs in the brownish flowers and the wider dorsal sepal,
