Found in Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 800 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with 5/8" to 1 1/8" [1.5 to 3 cm] between each ovoid-cylindrical pseudobulb enveloped in youth by large, brown, very thick sheaths and carrying two apical, oblong-ligulate to ligulate, gradually and slightly attenuate towards the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a basal, incurved, 8" [20 cm] long, loosely 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with 6 to 7 distant sheaths
