Found in Papua New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 2600 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a creeping, terete rhixome enveloped by small, dense, clasping sheaths giving rise to distant (internodes .28" [0.7 cm] long), narrowly conical-oblong, about terete, glabrous pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect or erect-patent, narrowly linear-lanceolate, subcoriaceous, apex unequally bilobulate, gradually narrowing into the base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, erect, terete, glabrous, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long, provided with a few distant, acuminate, laxly clasping sheaths, single flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, laxly clasping the base of the pedicel floral bracts and carrying yellow flowers with the petals and lip dotted brown.
