Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-ligulate, subapiculate leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, filiform, glabrous, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with ovate-cucullate, shortly acuminate, much smaller than the pedicellate ovary floral bracts
Schlechter states that the flowers are pale yellow with with red spotted petals and lip.
