Found in Vietnam in open broad leafed, mixed and coniferous mossy forests at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters as a creeping, mini-miniature, hot to warm growing epiphyte or lithophyte that can become a giant plant to 1.5 meters long with 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] between each ovoid, rugose, enveloped basally by evanescent sheaths becoming fibrous with age and carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate, round apically unequally bilobed, abruptly narrowing below intothe elongate, channeled petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, basal, 9.8" [24 cm] long, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb .
This species and B longibrachiatum are considered conspecific and as such B longibrachiatum takes preccedence as it was described first.
