Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with small, oblong-cylindric pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, elliptic-ligulate, apiculate to acute, narrowing below into the cuneate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, setiform, single flowered inflorescence with a few bracts and a cucullate, as long as the ovary floral bract
