Found in Madagascar in montane erinaceous scrub and lichen rich forests at elevations of 2000 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with ovoid, 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, narrowly oblong leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on a basal, erect, 8 to 14.8" [20 to 37 cm] long, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence with persistent bracts and carrying pendent flowers.
