Common Name The Reflexed Flower Bulbophyllum
Flower Size .88” [2.2 cm] long
Found in Madagascar in montane erinaceous scrub and lichen rich forests at elevations of 2000 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with .4” [1 cm] between each, widely ovoid to subspherical, 3 to 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, narrowly oblong, shortly attenuate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on a basal, erect, peduncle 5.2” [13 cm] long, enveloped almost completely by 6 to 7, obtuse, elongated, obtuse, adpressed sheaths, 8 to 14.8" [20 to 37 cm] long, rachis cylindrical, not thicker than the apex of the peduncle, slightly verrucose, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence with persistent, reflexed, narrowly lanceolate, thin, scarious, 3 veined, shorter nthan the pedicel floral bracts and carrying compressed, somewhat drooping flowers.
