Common Name The Kidney Shaped Petal Bulbophyllum

Found in New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 1000 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a cauliform rhizome giving rise to subcylindrical, subparellel to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, elliptic-ligulate, apiculate leaf that blooms in the spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate, somewhat longer than the ovary floral bract.
Schlechter states that the flowers are pale pink, with a darker dorsal sepal, the petals are white amd the lip is a dark carmine-red with a white cented and white spots
