Found in Gabon and Zaire in lowland forests as a small sized epiphyte with 2.2 to 4.2" [5.5 to 10.5 cm] between each, very narrowly ovoid to almost cylindrical, slightly flattened, inconspicuously 4 angled pseudobulb carrying 2, apical, erect, coriaceous, broadly lanceolate, acute to shortly acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a basal, 8.2 to 16" [20.5 to 40 cm] long, 28 to 48 flowered, widened and flattened, blade like inflorescence with distichous flowers arising from along the sides
CAUTION!!!! The photos by Vincent Droisart above are not typical and may represent a different species or at least another variety as B renkiniana differs most from others in its caudate, reflexed apex of the lip.
