Common Name The Retrose Bulbophyllum [refers to the transverse backward turned ridge near the base of the lip]

Found in Malaysia and Sabah Borneo in low and open, stunted Dacrydium-Leptospermum forests at elevations around 2100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .28" [.7 cm] between each, ovoid, medium green suffused with purplish red pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, acute, somewhat glaucous green, often purple suffused leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendent, 1" [2.5 cm] long, dense, to 18 flowered inflorescence with a slightly thickened rachis and carrying non-resupinate, spirally arranged flowers
