Found in New Guinea in montane forests on trees at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with superposed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ligulate, apiculate, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a very short, few bracted single flowered inflorescence
