Found in New Guinea in low range forests at elevations around 150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with a short rhizome with minute, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, ligulate, minutely apiculate leaf that blooms in the winter on a setiform, .6” [1.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are rose red with a black violet lip.
