Found in western Sumatra in as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with unequally quadrangular, concave sided pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, rigid, fleshy, minutely spotted with brown beneath, dull mdark green tinted purple above, oblong-elliptic, narrowly obtuse leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, rigid, delicate, 18" [45 cm] long, distichous, densely many flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the flowers are whitish and striated with red, the petals are dark red, the lip is brown red and the column is yellow
