Common Name Rolfe's Bulbophyllum [Taxomonist at Kew early 1900's]
Flower Size .6" [1.35 cm]
Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, Sikkim, the eastern Himalayas and Nepal at elevations around 2000 to 2800 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with sometimes touching, sometimes 1/4 to 1/2" [8 to 1.25 cm] between each ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single, narrowly elliptic, subacute, narrowing towards the base, sessile leaf that blooms in the later summer on a erect, slender, 1 to 1.5" [2.5 to 3.75 cm] long, 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, equal to the ovary in length floral bracts.
