Found in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu in forests on volcanic islands at elevations of sea level to 820 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a creeping, elongate rhizome with 1 to 3" [2.5 to 9 cm] between each cylindrical-ovoid pseudobulb carrying an erect, elliptic-ligulate, obtuse, shortly petiolate bse leaf that blooms ona basal, filiform, peduncle up to 1.8" [4.5 cm] long, provided with a small, clasping, ovate-cucullate bract, .8 to 2.2" [2 to 5.5 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence
