Found in Madagascar in forests as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with green, orbicular, not flattened, not angled pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, green, coriaceous, very thick elliptic, obtuse, retuse apically leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle swollen towards the rachis, apex drooping, with 5 to 6, tubular sheaths, rachis swollen, spindle-shaped, subulate, finely rugose, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, rather densely to 30 flowered inflorescence with tubular, keeled, rounded to truncate, membraneous peduncle bracts and recurved, ovate, membraneous floral bracts and carrying the simultaneously opening flowers in 3 rows
