Found in southern Vietnam in evergreen broad-leaved mountain forests on granite at unknown elevations as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing, mat forming epiphyte with a long, wiry, creeping, branching, seim-woody, dull yellowish grey, flexuous rhizome giving rise to distant, .2 to 2.2 cm] between each, green to yellowish green, narrowly ovoid to ovoid, smooth in youth becoming lngitudinally irregularily wrinkled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, leathery, oblong to broadly lanceolate, narrowing belowin tohe short, conduplicate, petioalte base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a penduplous, peduncle thin, down arcuate, green to brown, glossy to glaucous, provided with 2 to 6 light green, sterile bracts, rachis .6 to 2 cm] long, straight to slightly curves, down directed, densely, spirally arrangeed, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with light green, herbaceous, at acute angle to almost horizontally spreading, narrowly triangular, concave, acuminate, as long as to slightly shorter than the flowers floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate,flower that do not open well.

"The new species belongs to the rather formal group of species with simple lip (having no auricles or any other ornamentation) belonging to SECTION Racemosae Benth & Hkr.f 1883 . Bulbophyllum brevispicatum Z.H.Tsi & S.C.Chen and B. triviale are probably most close to our plant. Some species with auriculate lip, e.g. B. allenkerrii Seidenfaden and B. bittnerianum , also show certain similarity with the new species. Our plant strikingly differs from all more or less similar known species in its dwarf habit, pendulous inflorescence, twice smaller flowers and curious setose hairiness on abaxial surface of sepals consisting of white dense papillous hairs."
