Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid-cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-ligulate, apiculate to subacute, narrowly subpetillate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, filiform, glabrous, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate, obtuse, much shorter than the ovary and pedicel floral bracts
Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish white with with a few red spots except the petals and lip which are heavily spotted.
