Found in Brunei Borneo in peat swamp lowland forests at elevations around 10 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with [7 to 14 cm] between each distinct, ellipsoid to almost cylindrical, flattened pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to obovate to ovate, acute to acuminate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect to patent, elongate, peduncle [32 to 42 cm] long, rachis, somewhat nodding, to 3.2 to 3.6" [8 to 9 cm] long, densely 15 to 18 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts and carrying simultaneously opening, rotting fish scented flowers.
"Differs from B. lasianthum Lindl., by its distinctly hairy sepals and the somewhat verrucate adaxial surface of the lip.
