Found in New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations of 250 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with a cauliform rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, subparellel to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, lanceolate-ligulate, acute, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the early winter on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts

Schlechter states that the flowers are orange yellow.
