Found in New Guinea in range forests on trees at elevations of 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a cauliform rhizome with 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] between each cylindrical, parellel to the rhizome pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, apiculate, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate, apiculate, surpassing the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are white with a sulphur yellow lip.
