Found in New Guinea on trees in primary forests at elevations of 1800 to 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a patent rhizome giving rise to clustered, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate to elliptic, acute, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and early summer on a [4.5 to 7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, acute. shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
