Found in Sabah Borneo in high wet montane forests on trunks and large branches of canopy trees at elevations of 1600 to 1900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid, somewhat flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, rather thin, ovate to elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the short, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, erect, 1.3 to 1.4" [3.2 to 3.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular, shorter than the ovary floral bract and carrying faintly, unpleasantly scented flowers
