Found in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji and Samoa as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte on moss covered branches of large forest trees that occurs at elevations of 2300 to 3000 meters with tan to red close set pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, yellow basally , green elliptic blade, petiolate leaf that blooms in the winter on a basal, slender, 7.2" [18 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with minutely lanceolate, acute, keeled, much shorter than the curved ovary floral bracts that is held above the leaves.
This orchid requires ample water and humidity as well as light shade.
