Common Name The Leaf Tail Gecko-Like Bulbophyllum [refers to the leaf tailed geckos that are also found flattened against trees]

Found in Toamasina in northern Madagascar in humid montane forests at elevations around 1050 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a rhizome completely hidden by the pale yellow green, yellow with age, ovate to orbicular, ancipitous, very strongly flattened, partly one atop another pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, pale green, oblong to ligulate, very shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a semi-erect, peduncle 5.2 to 6" [13 to 15 cm] long, from behind the pseudobulb, provided with a basal, triangular sheath, slightly compressed, brownish red, provided with 3 to 4 tubular, membraneous sheaths, rachis brownish red, surface slightly ridged, hollowed at the insert of the ovary, 3.2 to 3.6" [8 to 9 cm] long, many simultaneosuly, laxly 15 to 18 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate,acute, longer than teh ovary floral bracts.

Similar to B cardiobulbum but differs in the smaller plant, very narrow triangular sepals and petals and the very papillose and elongated lip that is medially compressed.
