Found on Mindanao Island of the Philippines at elevations around 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] betweeen each, conical, rugose with age pseudobulb and carrying a single, apical, elliptic, obscurely pointed leaf that blooms on an erect, thread-like, to 6" [15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
The new growths of this species are with reddish purple and this is one of the largest flowers of the 1956 SECTION Polymeres Verm & O'Byrne 2008
