Common Name Woelfle's Bulbophyllum [Female Swiss orchid enthusiast current]

Flower Size 3 1/4" to 5 3/4" [8 to 12 cm]

Found in the Philippines at elevations around 1400 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with .4 t o1.2" [1 to 3 cm] between each ovoid, curved pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, ovate to elliptic, obtuse leaf and blooms in the fall on a basal or from the rhizome, 3" [7.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

This species has the largest flowers of the section Polymeres within the Philippines.
