Found in penninsular Malaysia in the Cameron Highlands in very wet montane forests in moss pads at elevations of 1600 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with [1.12 to 1.4" 2.8 to 3.5 cm] between each ovoid, erect pseudobulb carrying a single, elliptic, acute leaf that blooms on an erect to patent, [23 to 28 cm] long, provided with about 7 bracts, rachis arching, [17 to 19 cm] long, rather dense, many simultaneously, 40 to 50 flowered inflorescence with triangular, subacute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying more or less resupinate, more or less secund, not fully opeing flowers.

Differs from B wrayi in having acute leaf apices and a distinct bifurcate tooth on the column foot.
