Found in New South Wales in dense thickets of low shrubs in shrubby forests besides streams and on slopes at elevations around 900 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an underground tuber giving rise to single leaf that blooms in the mid spring through early summer on an erect, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
