Found in southern China, Japan, Taiwan, eastern Himalayas, Nepal and the western Himalayas in montane forests or on grassy slopes at elevations of 1500 to 4000 meters as a medium szied, cool to cold growing terrestrial with small, narrowly conical pseudobulbs carrying 3 elliptic to obovate-elliptic, glabrous leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, usually solitary, erect, sparsely short hairy, racemose, 1.2 to 4.8" [3 to 12 cm] long, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence
